William Bednar

William Bednar (he/him) is an actor, musician, writer, and educator, currently based in the beautiful Hudson Heights. Most recently, he played guitar and mandolin in Theater For a New Audience’s Henry IV Parts 1 and 2. Before that, he spent several years playing Cedric Diggory, James Potter Senior, and James Potter Junior in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, both on Broadway, and in San Francisco. He has acted as both composer and music director with a variety of Shakespeare companies, here in New York, notably Barefoot Shakespeare, and has extensive teaching experience with students of all ages. His work as an educator includes several years with the lessons department at Guitar Center Brooklyn, a specialist position at the Park Slope Daycamp teaching music and storytelling, and private tutelage with clients in Brooklyn and New York City. He holds a BFA in Drama from the University Of North Carolina School of the Arts, class of 2015.
